GAME Plan Progress
Since I adapted my GAME Plan to include Mind Tools and/or Computer Tutorials I have had some success in finding material. Concept mapping is an excellent cognitive tool to help students make connections with material they are studying. Each student will have different ideas and needs when it comes to organizing material and concept maps are a great tool for addressing this diversity. I have not given up on Computer Tutorial for physical science and will continue to look for and explore whats available. I have found a number of good simulation programs (www.phet.colorado.edu/) that I plan to use. I do not think any further adjustments in My GAME Plan are necessary at this point.

Richard,
ReplyDeleteYou have achieved the best part of this Game plan and that is not giving up. It sounds as if you have good ideas for using concept maps. I would like to use them more in my math classes, especially Algebra. Using maps to plot out solving equations seems only logically. I look forward to viewing the simulation programs on the web site you have provided. I hope this GAME plan continues to work for you.
Richard,
ReplyDeleteSounds like you have a good plan in place. I'm interested in hearing more about your progress with the computer tutorials since we teach similar subjects. I've used traditional concept mapping before but I completely forgot about the program we used in an earlier course. That's the problem when using new technology. Either you use it, or you lose it! (At least for me anyway.)
